The original mouldable liner. Canadian. Better performance and fit than stock liners.

I have been using Intuition liners exclusively in my backcountry ski boots for over 15 years. Why?

  • warmer

  • lighter

  • better fitting and more customisable

  • lower volume - allows more space for my widish feet plus wiggle room for my toes

  • long lasting - they don’t pack out like other brands

  • quicker drying

  • And all this leads to better performance!

I change my ski boots every couple of years. When I get a new pair, I sometimes give the stock liners a try - but have been universally disappointed in them. So I just put my trusty old Intuitions into my new boots and away I go. I have a pair of Intuitions that are 8 years old. With 80+ days/season of ski touring, that’s a LOT of days and they’re still going strong.

When you cost amortise a pair of liners over that many seasons, the investment is more than worth it!

MODELS

I use the Pro Tour in my touring boots, although my current pair (Dynafit Hoji) created a pressure point on my inside ankle. So I called up Intuition in Vancouver and they suggested I try the Pro Wrap. Problem solved! Plus I also got a bit stiffer flex with the switch.

In my mechanised (heli and cat-ski) boots, I use the Dreamliner as they’re a bit warmer with a thicker sole. They don’t have the flex points on the Achilles, so I don’t recommend them for ski touring although they will work for short distances.

WEAR

As mentioned above, these liners take a LONG time to pack out. Intuition uses a proprietary closed cell foam. This foam moulds well to feet with heat (either via external heat application or by wearing for several days), but retains its shape over many, many days. The outer fabric can be abraded by friction points with your boot shells. Rather than applying the supplied patches to the liner, apply them to the shell for optimal durability.

PRICING

They’re an investment, but having warm, comfortable and great fitting boots is more than worth it IMO.
