I picked up a pair of the Wayback 88s last year for spring ski-mountaineering. I was very impressed so thought I'd try the Wayback 106 for all-around touring work. The 20/21 model is unchanged from the current 19/20 except for topsheet graphics.

They're great! Light, but not too light, so don't get thrown around in refrozen conditions. An aggressive early rise tip but a nice flat firm tail for turns and anchor building.

Why don't all backcountry skis have a skin notch like these? My skin tails never come off - unlike other bc skis I've tried.

I have these in 179 cm, I usually like to ski a bit longer length, but found at backcountry speed these hold well and the shorter sticks are appreciated in tight areas.

I mounted them +2 cm and this feels pretty good for balance and stability.

Plus next year’s graphics look cool and synch well with the Elevation Guides colour scheme!
